Josh Butcher: Outstanding Role Model

When I interviewed Josh Butcher for Indspiration Magazine, I didn’t expect to walk away so moved by one person’s drive, compassion, and clarity of purpose.

Josh’s story reminds us what’s possible when Indigenous youth are supported to lead with both vision and heart. At the time, he was recognized as an Indspire Youth Award recipient, but it was clear he was only just getting started.

Whether he’s navigating systemic gaps in health care or breaking barriers in sports and academics, Josh is shaping a future where Métis youth can thrive, be visible, and be heard.
